CERT Course Alumni Comment About Their Experiences with the CERT Course
Class Comments About Their CERT Course:
As a single mother with two young children, I took the CERT training course so that I would be prepared to take care of my family in an emergency. The information I learned helped me feel more confident that I could handle situations when there was a good chance that no one else would be available to come help us.

"Everyone living in earthquake-prone Los Angeles should take advantage of the free, CERT classes presented by the Los Angeles Fire Department. If you care about your safety and that of your loved ones and your neighbors, don't pass up this vital learning opportunity. And believe it or not, the classes are FUN as well as enlightening. Also, know that in a real disaster (remember Katrina?) we'll have to fend for ourselves. So get prepared now by taking CERT and tell your family and friends!"

The class was great. I really learned alot and enjoyed it at the same time.

I highly recommend this class. It was extremely informative and quite an eye opener. The instructor was very professional and knew his material well. He was even entertaining at times, although the subject matter is no laughing matter! Hopefully I will never have to put the information I acquired to use, but if necessary, I will be more prepared than had I not taken the class. Thanks for the opportunity.

The benefits I received from attending the recent CERT training are as follows:
1) a way to plan for and respond to the exigencies created by a major
disaster such as an earth-quake.
2) This includes knowing what suppliies to assemble, how much and where to
keep them.
3) A general understanding of what dangers and hazards one can expect to
encounter and have to contend with when such a disaster occurs.
4) A procedure for acting proactively to limit damage and injury when a
disaster occurs.
5) The importance of community cohesiveness, interdependence and
communication.
