Good Deeds by Our Alums and Other Friends

The webpage honors the good deeds as our alums and other friends have applied the training we helped them get for free (or low cost).  We respect their right to privacy.

1.  An alum, put out a grease fire.  S/he was previously scared of fire.  After taking CERT 1 and being trained in light fire suppression, s/he overcame fear and put out a kitchen fire.  S/he prefers to remain anonymous for s/he is concerned that his/her insurance rates would go up if it weree known s/he had a fire.

2.  An alum, put out an electrical fire in their home.  They prefer not be anonymous for they put the fire out after they were taught that having too many appliances on one outlet is a fire hazard.  Because they were at fault, they prefer not to have their name known.

3.  An alum, put out a candle fire.  They were preparing a romantic candelight dinner.  They left the room to change.  When they returned, they found he flowers and napkins on fire.  They easily and confidently out the fire out with the training they had.  They were taught in CERT 1 class that candles are dangerous but used them anyway.

4.  An car accident involving 2 cars occured in front of a pair of alums' home.  The cars collided.  One of the cars ran up onto the sidewalk and hit one or both of the older male pedistrans.  One older man's body was straddled over the gutter and sidewalk.  The alums ran out to help and did a head to toe assessment, based on what they were taught in CERT 1 class.   The alums found bleeding in the back.  Since this man' head was laying in a pool of glass.  They slid a towel underneath the victim's head.  Then the paramedics arrived.  These alums are modest and want their privacy respected.  They said "anyone" would have done this to help.
